“I am not too sure about sending my daughter to USA right now,” a father commented when asked about the admission his daughter had received from a leading college. His daughter was planning to take up Masters in Science from a leading University and was eagerly waiting for an admission letter. Now, however, they have started applying to universities in Canada. When asked what their first choice would be they said that till about December it was USA. Now, they are more anxious about getting admission in a Canadian University. “Even the Americans are looking towards Canada. When citizens don’t feel confident about their own country, we are after all foreigners. Canadian Universities offer equally lucrative options. If it is about building a career…the world is much more than USA,” commented the man.

Not all is well in USA is for anyone to see. Though many people continue to raise queries about the spreading panic, people have started doubting. However, there continues to be the optimists and the group of students who cannot wait to go to USA. “One off incident should not stop people. The death of the student from Telangana is very unfortunate but it is important to note that it is not a hate crime. Tere are people who would spread rumours and try to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Fact remains that quality of education in USA is higher than a lot and getting through the top university continues to be my dream. I am still waiting for my letter and the first thing I would do when I get it is send them my confirmation,” shared another student from Delhi also waiting for result of his application.
